What are UDS Pipes?
| UDS (Underground Drainage System) Pipes are one of the most commonly used drainage solutions in lowland and suburban areas. These pipes are usually used as the primary drainage solution in multi-story buildings. They are also the first choice when it comes to underground installations. The main advantage of using these pipes is that they have a very small nominal outside diameter(OD), which makes them very flexible. This flexibility makes it easier to snake them through all types of obstructions without any hassle.
These pipes can be installed using simple hand tools. Due to their extremely thin walls, the UDS pipe has a huge internal volume, which helps in quick absorption of pressure.
The major disadvantage of this pipe is that it offers very less mechanical strength, which makes it prone to deformation under pressure. Due to this reason, UDS pipes cannot be used in high-rise buildings, deep excavations or harsh climatic conditions.
